FULL TIME PARALEGAL

TMLC is seeking to fill the position of Paralegal. The person in this position will support TMLC's primary mission of litigation which includes the preparation of court pleadings, including affidavits, motions, briefs, legal correspondence, conducting legal research and participation in the review of citizen requests for TMLC's involvement in matters which they believe their constitutional rights have been violated. The candidate must be fully committed to the Law Center's mission and be proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel as well as case management programs.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or certificate in Paralegal studies.
- Must be a team-player with ability to multitask and work under
deadlines.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- At least 3 years' experience as a paralegal.
- Familiarity with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw of Lexis.
Hiring Preferences:
Must possess functional knowledge and ability to:
o E-file in federal, state and appellate courts.
o Prepare table of contents and table of authorities for appellate briefing.
o Prepare appendix for appellate briefing.
o Prepare and file Pro Hac Vice motions for admission in federal,
and state courts.
o Track significant case dates.
o Document and discovery management.
o Arrange depositions and prepare deposition notices.
o Assist attorneys with motion and trial preparation.
