Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join our team on a full-time basis, working on-site at our esteemed law firm. While our firm specializes in labor and employment law, our practice extends beyond these areas to encompass sophisticated litigation in class actions, commercial disputes, and maritime law. As an Associate Attorney, you will have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of cases, including those involving intriguing issues related to supply chain management, technology, and efficient cargo transportation. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in our transactional practice, serving as outside general counsel for select clients.

At our firm, we prioritize quality over quantity, ensuring that our attorneys have the opportunity to deeply engage with a limited number of substantial cases rather than managing a high-volume caseload. With many of our cases proceeding to trial, this position is ideal for an attorney seeking to cultivate or enhance their trial practice skills.

In addition to gaining invaluable experience in litigation and transactional work, this role offers extensive client interaction and participation in our firm's marketing initiatives. The base salary for this position is commensurate with experience, supplemented by a generous monthly bonus program. Qualifications
Demonstrated experience providing legal counsel to clients and conducting thorough legal research.
Strong negotiation abilities to effectively represent client interests.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Familiarity with California employment laws and regulations, or a willingness to acquire this knowledge.
While not required, a passion for maritime law is preferred.
Proficiency in conducting depositions and a keen interest in this aspect of legal practice.
Extensive experience with California discovery processes.
Convenient access to Long Beach (405 & Lakewood Blvd.) for on-site work.
Active membership in the California State Bar.
