Surgery Scheduler

Ophthalmology Associates, S.C. located in Cudahy, Wisconsin is hiring a full time Surgery Scheduler . We are passionate about patient care and dedicated to improving quality of life through life-changing vision procedures and treatments. Preferred applicants will have surgery scheduling experience, but we are willing to train the right applicant. Excellent customer service skills are a must!!

Responsibilities


  • Responsibilities include, but not limited to, scheduling ophthalmic surgeries at the ambulatory surgery center and local hospitals

  • Serves as liaison between patient and surgeon, facility, pre-op staff, etc

  • Must be willing to help in all areas

  • Maintains surgical schedule for surgeons

  • Scheduling, Pre-Op testing and visits, Insurance Requirements, Surgical Consents, Pre and Post-operative instructions and counseling, Transportation Requirements, Financial Requirements

  • Contacts facilities for scheduling

  • Arranges for pre-op testing including surgical clearances to be performed by PCP if necessary

  • Calls for benefits verification and necessary pre-authorizations

  • Coordinates paperwork

  • Maintains patient confidentiality

  • Orders intraocular lenses and any other equipment and/or special supplies needed for surgery

  • Obtains and Communicates out of pocket expenses to surgical patients

Expected hours: 38-40 per week

Applicant should be dependable and a self-starter. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, scheduling ophthalmic surgeries at the ambulatory surgery center and local hospitals. Serves as liaison between patient and surgeon, facility, pre-op staff, etc. Position requires good understanding of ophthalmic practice and insurance coverage. Requires considerable attention to detail. Ability to communicate with patients, surgeons, co-workers and supervisor is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas. Note: We have office locations in Greenfield, Cudahy, and New Berlin. Surgery Scheduler will primarily work at our Cudahy office. Some travel is required mid-day on certain days of the week
