A Facilities Designer/Draftsman job in Schenectady, NY is currently accepting applications. This is a 12 month contract position with our key manufacturing client. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of responsible drafting duties in connection with the preparation and final working designs and drawings for the site"s facilities operations. To be considered for this role, you will have a A.S. Degree along with 3+ years of related experience.
Facilities Designer/Draftsman Job Responsibilities:
- Updates and maintains plans and drawings for all site buildings and facilities related infrastructure and shop design requests.
- Prepares working drawings, maps, sketches, schematics, and charts based on field measurements and engineering notes.
- Works closely with the facilities mechanical and electrical engineers to develop new designs and document changes to existing designs and drawings.
- Researches and supplies all drawing documentation in support of excavation permit requests with updated site utilities drawings.
- Maintains all facilities drawings and documents both hardcopy and electronic files.
- Prints drawings as requested and converts AutoCad drawings to PDF for communication purposes.
- Must be able to work at heights in a boom or scissor lift & enter confined spaces to complete field measurements.
- Must be trained in LOTO (LockOut-TagOut), Working at Heights, and Asbestos Awareness.
Facilities Designer/Draftsman Job Requirements:
- A.S. Degree preferred
- 3+ years of related experience is a nice to have
- Knowledge of structural, electrical, architectural, and mechanical systems, components, symbols, and terminology.
- Knowledge of building materials and principles of construction.
- Must be well versed and extremely Proficient in the use of AutoCad drafting software.
- Able to learn LaserFiche software for accurate scanned drawing and document achieving and retrieval.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Power Point, Excel, and Word.
