We are looking for an individual with a strong analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in private lending, specifically in hard money lending, and will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to continuous improvement, and effective communication skills. Quality control and draw management will be additional duties. In order to evaluate risk, examine financial information, and come to wise judgments, you will collaborate closely with loan officers, borrowers, and other team members. Responsibilities: • Review and analyze mortgage applications and supporting documentation. • Assess borrower creditworthiness, employment history, and financial stability. • Evaluate the Scope of Work for real estate project renovations. • Evaluate property appraisals. • Determine loan eligibility and establish terms and conditions. • Collaborate with loan officers and other departments to gather additional information when necessary. • Provide clear and timely communication with loan officers and borrowers regarding application status. • Stay current with industry regulations and underwriting guidelines. • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge. • Maintain a high level of quality and efficiency in your work. Qualifications: • Prior experience in Non-Qualifying Mortgages is preferred. • Proven experience as a Mortgage Underwriter or a similar role is required. • Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and underwriting guidelines. • Preferred experience in private lending / hard money lending. • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficient in using mortgage underwriting software and technology. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. • A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in the underwriting process. • Must be able to work in the office.
