Job description

The Medical Payment Poster is responsible for processing payments in compliance with departmental procedures and standards for Orthopedic Center of Illinois (OCI) and its related companies. This position is responsible for ensuring payments are applied correctly, on time, and payments reflect maximum payment allowable.

Major Responsibilities

• Become familiar and ensure payments and adjustments are posted
• Post payments from EOBs and electronic payment files from insurance companies
• Apply all payments to patient accounts and balance to total
• Download and rename remits batches
• Maintain all documentation in compliance with practice requirements
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with federal and state HIPAA requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• High School diploma required, AAs degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of various medical insurance statements as well as medical terminology
• Must be able to work in an environment with deadlines, while paying close attention to detail

This is a fulltime hourly position. OCI offers its employees a 401K that matches 100% up to 6%. This is Monday-Friday position with paid holidays, vacation and sick time.
