Title: Registered Ultrasound Tech – RDMS

Overview:

• Job Category: Acute - Allied - Local
• Skills:1 year General Ultrasound experience.
• Education: Eligible for Registry as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by completion of Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program required. BLS preferred.
• Certifications & Licenses: RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)

The incumbent performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to provide comprehensive ultrasound and/ or NI Vascular Lab services for the hospital. Demonstrates competency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Requires abilities to:

• Perform diagnostic ultrasonographic and non-invasive vascular procedures with a high level of expertise
• Effectively communicate with the patients, physicians and other hospital personnel
• Maintain the confidence of Radiologists in clinical problem description
• Complete examination with good image quality and completeness of exam
• Coordinate work and establish priorities
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Calm and reassure patients who are distressed by events or the procedure
• Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with physicians and hospital personnel for efficient utilization of the service
• Work effectively under stress and adjust priorities as circumstances require
• Organize work assignments
• Maintaining accurate and complete records
• Evaluate equipment against manufacturers' standards and quality expectations of the Radiologist
• Create and maintain records of objective performance measurements for the equipment
• Work independently on-call covering all normal clerical and technical functions
