Job description
We are seeking a thermal engineer that is experienced with characterizing the thermal performance of high volume/high-tech battery-operated consumer electronics devices. Candidates must have experience in creating real world thermal conditions in a laboratory using thermal chambers, heated body models, air circulators, and solar light sources. A great candidate for is experience in creating these conditions by setting up instrumentation for measuring thermal performance with varying conditions. The candidate must be proficient in data analysis to inform on design performance and hardware/software design changes to optimize performance. Ability to multitask across various disciplines and tasks are a must .
Thermal Engineer Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience in thermal system management and development
- Proficient with Thermal Systems, High-volume battery-operated consumer wearable electronic devices and Software like MATLAB and Simulink
- Solid system level understanding of thermal subsystem design
- Familiarity with fan motor design and evaluation of air, liquid, and refrigeration cooling systems
- Steep knowledge of thermal design and analysis using Ansys / Flowtherm / etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Experience with Python programming for hardware validations is highly preferred.
- Write thermal requirements and test plans.
- Developed thermal models and conducted analyses to predict system thermal performance during flight conditions.
- Designed and implemented solar thermal solutions for residential and industrial applications.
- Working with group of Mechanical & Hardware Engineers for design and requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Substantial understanding of heat transfer theory and the use of thermal analysis software tools as applied to space based thermal designs.
- Experience in thermal analysis of systems using advanced materials.
- Good experience with thermal analysis software
- Excellent understanding in thermodynamic, mechanical, or structural design.
