Job description

The Yale University Department of Neurology seeks a fellowship trained Movement Disorders neurologist to join the Division at the rank level of Assistant or Associate Professor. The Yale Comprehensive Movement Disorders Center (co-directed by Drs. Veronica Santini and Clemens Scherzer) boasts world-class faculty who deliver holistic, patient-centered care that optimizes the human experience seamlessly integrated with precision research that advances identification of drivers of disease progression and therapeutics that lead to a cure.

With specialized expertise in the full range of movement disorders, our team delivered transformative care in more than 7,000 comprehensive treatment plans this year, most of which integrate a multidisciplinary advanced care model. Care is enhanced in specialized clinics such as the Adams Center for Parkinson and Atypical Parkinsonian Disorders, Memory and Movement Aging Clinic, Wilson Disease Center of Excellence (1 of 7 nationwide), and Yale Center for Restless Legs Syndrome (1 of 10 RLS Foundation Quality Care Centers nationwide), as well as the functional movement disorder program, therapeutic botulinum toxins clinics, and comprehensive advanced therapeutics and deep brain stimulation program. Close collaboration with experts in the fields of neurosurgery, behavioral neurology, neurogenetics, sleep neurology, neuropsychology, psychiatry, autonomics, radiology, neuro-ophthalmology, and pharmacy continue to further compassionate care and cutting-edge research. The division combines basic science, translational, and clinical research, working toward biomarker discovery, identifying markers of disease progression, and evaluating behavioral and pharmacologic interventions in movement disorders. Yale is also a premier training institution for two-year movement disorders clinical and research fellows who receive individually tailored instruction.
