Estimator - Solar
Summary:
The Solar Estimator will manage the project estimation process and be responsible for timely delivery of estimates to sales groups within the company. The Solar Estimator is responsible for preparing complete cost and budgetary estimates and submittal documents for residential, commercial and/or utility scaled solar PV projects. Also, develop accurate EPC costs and budgets and compare those estimates to actual expenses throughout a project.
Primary Duties:
- Examine and review unusual cost records and ensure costs data is allocated correctly within the construction environment.
- Coordinate the entire estimating process from concept through project aware and create Bill of Materials for project cost and construction.
- Develop cost reduction processes and material usage methods to reduce cost of goods.
Skills: - Standards: NEC, NFPA,UL and ISA as related to design and documentation
- Plans: able to read and interpret one line diagrams, schematics and P&D layout drawings.
- Classifications; Area classification requirements as related to design and documentation.
- Wiring: Techniques, color-coding, sizing and de-rating and insulation classification.
Requirements: - 3+ years work experience as a solar estimator
- Advanced knowledge of Enphase products, energy storage configurations.
- Professional appearance and a friendly disposition.
- Ability to relate technical information in layman’s terms.
- Advanced knowledge of solar design and general office software (Word, Excel).
- Ability to read construction plans.
- Experience using Energy Toolbase.
- Experience using Helioscope.
