Job description

The Renewable Program Manager is responsible for managing the companies Renewable Energy Program. This position is accountable for refining the current program, expanding renewable initiatives, qualifying strategic opportunities and partnerships, and providing renewable expertise for clients and support for the sales team. As a clean energy thought leader, the Renewable Program Manager identifies and recommends renewable solutions to achieve our clients' goals and sustainability objectives, and monitors and provides timely regulatory and legislative industry updates to the team. This position directly supports achieving the companies renewable energy goals, business objectives, and strategic initiatives. The Renewable Program Manager reports to whoever is above them in the company organization chart, currently the COO.

The Renewable Program Manager can achieve career advancement in sales and sustainability positions including but not limited to: Senior Renewable Program Manager, Renewable Program Director, Sustainability Manager, and Sustainability Director.

What You Will Be Doing

Job Responsibilities:

- Function as a clean energy thought leader, identifying renewable opportunities to help drive revenue and recommending innovative initiatives, renewable products, and services.
- Identify and establish additional clean energy, developer, and vendor relationships while maintaining and further developing partnerships with current collaborators.
- Prepare and deliver regular updates to the team about regulatory and legislative changes, state-specific renewable legislation, virtual net metering opportunities, emerging opportunities in the clean energy space, current renewable deals/revenues, market opportunities, and new partnerships as well as those in development.
- Identify and update the Freedom Team regarding renewable opportunities for clients in respective markets.
- Participate in meetings/calls with Freedom team members, clients, and prospects to strategize and formulate optimal solutions to support goals and objectives and achieve sustainability requirements.
- Develop and establish a portfolio of satisfied long-term clients.
- Actively listen to and engage prospects, identifying needs, providing education, and guiding to the optimal solution that achieves their requirements.
- Proactively contribute to best-in-class business practices by providing feedback on products and services, marketing and sales strategies, and overall team collaboration.
- Follow clean tech, competition, new product and service offerings, and pricing strategies, and stay well-informed including through industry publications, webinars, podcasts, etc.
- Attend networking events related to renewable energy, sustainability, and net metering. Participate in speaking opportunities on behalf of the company.
- Become an expert in renewables, wholesale power, and natural gas markets.
- Deliver industry insights and market expertise. Collaborate with Marketing. Contribute articles and market updates. Participate in webinars, training sessions, and other forms of support to educate team members, clients, and the community.
- Manage internal/external Renewable Energy Program communications.
- Utilize Salesforce to manage call lists and sales databases (including expiration dates).
- Achieve weekly call quotas and other established, new, and additional goals.
- Follow all procedures for pricing requests, enrolling clients, and internal documentation.
- Have fun and enjoy collaborating with a talented team.
- Perform other general administrative duties as assigned.

What You Need for this Position

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in business, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years technology experience in renewable generation and sustainability initiatives; specifically physical and virtual solar products.
- Enthusiastic about sustainability. Previous exposure to ESG initiatives.
- Highly proficient business development skills; strong sales and marketing acumen.
- Ability to communicate complex products and opportunities by phone, online, and in person.
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and initiative-taking.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Working knowledge of Excel.
- Customer Service oriented
- Create and manage a pipeline of prospects to execute on sales strategy.
- Extreme attention to detail is a must.
- Must enjoy working within a high-energy team environment.
- Hardworking with the willingness to learn and take direction.

- Strong work ethic, positive attitude
- Must have a valid driver's license and insurance and be capable of driving to and from customer locations.
