SAIC has an immediate opening for a Security Network Technician to support the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Revolutionary IT Services (RITS) program to deploy, maintain, and upgrade large scale wireless networks.
NOTE: This position is a fully remote / work from home position.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans using industry-standard tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS. Analyze scan results to identify security vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) checklists for network devices, operating systems, and applications. Ensure systems are configured in accordance with STIG requirements to mitigate security risks.
- Coordinate with system administrators and IT teams to schedule and deploy security patches in a timely manner. Monitor patch compliance and escalate issues as necessary to ensure all systems are up to date with the latest security fixes.
- Maintain Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) documentation to track security vulnerabilities and remediation activities. Update POA&M status regularly and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies, industry regulations, and best practices. Collaborate with internal auditors and compliance teams to address security gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Provide support during security incidents and assist in incident response activities as needed. Participate in post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and improve incident response procedures.
- Provide training and guidance to IT staff on vulnerability management best practices, STIG compliance, and POA&M documentation procedures. Promote a culture of security awareness within the organization.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors and five (5)+ years of experience; additional four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Extensive experience of routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
- Extensive experience deploying and optimizing enterprise wireless networks
- Demonstrated proficiency using enterprise network management applications such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure (CPI) and/or SolarWinds
- Demonstrated proficiency installing, configuring, maintaining, and fixing enterprise wireless networks
- Demonstrated ability to dive deep to analyze and troubleshoot enterprise outages with cross functional teams
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification such as Security+, OR CySA+, etc.
- CCNP Wireless (or equivalent) preferred
REQUIRED CLEARANCES:
- Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start, SAIC will help to obtain
- Must be a current US Citizen
Target salary range: $105,001 - $115,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
