What You’ll Do:
Century Communities, Inc. (CCS on the NYSE) is looking for a National Vice President of Production. The National Vice President of Production reports directly to the EVP of National Operations and is responsible for improving construction quality, cycle times, BuildPro usage, safety, construction practices and customer satisfaction by partnering closely with each Century and Century Complete division around the country. The National Vice President of Production will also be focused on building technology, building science and value engineering and work closely with other departments on the national operations team (National Purchasing, Architecture & Construction Services) to improve direct, indirect and finished lot costs and return on Inventory (ROI).

Your Key Responsibilities Include:
Construction:
- Train division construction associates (field & leadership) on the following:
- Production standards and scheduling practices
- Production home, jobsite, model home and community cleanliness
- BuildPro schedule usage, shortcuts and best practices
- SupplyPro usage, shortcuts and best practices (vendor training)
- Trade management and scheduling
- Construction best practices and building science
- EPO/VPO best practices
- New Buyer Orientation (NBO), Pre-Drywall Orientation (PDO), Quality Assurance (QA) Inspection, Pre-Closing Orientation (PCO) and Pre-Closing Visits best practices
- Help create, organize and revise all Century U construction, customer relations and safety training material (videos, playbooks, tests, best practices, CM and CRM metrics/scorecards, construction and customer relations bonus programs and policies & procedures)
- Track actual and projected cycle times for each division and provide feedback to division management when homes are stuck in production, misrepresented in the system and/or can be pulled into a prior period
- Manage BuildPro templates to ensure cycle time goals are aggressive but realistic and schedules are optimized and easy to use
- Work with Century and CMP construction leadership to reduce EPO/VPO spend and approval timelines and warranty ticket aging
- Manage 3rd party construction quality auditors and ensure all construction issues are documented and abated immediately
- Work with building scientists, 3rd party construction experts and national operations to develop construction best practices (i.e. firewall assemblies), train our field associates on those best practices and follow up with our divisions to ensure they are being adopted
- Audit, analyze and help resolve escalated production issues
- Ensure accuracy of construction status reporting
- Work with our divisions and national operations to ensure quality control, quality assurance, SWPPP, EPA and OSHA compliance
- Work with building scientists to study new and existing building practices and materials to improve construction quality, reduce cycle times, reduce costs and avoid future risk
- Help foster and manage building technology projects and initiatives to help reduce costs, increase construction quality and reduce cycle times
- Monitor Eliant and BBB scores and work with each division to improve their scores
- Mentor and manage National Managers of Production and National Production Systems Analyst and Manager
Customer Relations:
- Train division customer relations associates (field & leadership) on the following:
- Customer interaction and communication skills. Ensure our homeowner's experience is best in class and our customers are willing to recommend Century Communities to friends and family
- BuildPro warranty module usage, shortcuts and best practices
- Trade management and scheduling
- Customer relations best practices
- New Buyer Orientation (NBO), Pre-Drywall Orientation (PDO), Quality Assurance (QA) Inspection, Pre-Closing Orientation (PCO) and Pre-Closing Visits best practices
- High risk customer dispute resolution
- Manage warranty ticket aging reports and work with the divisions to reduce warranty ticket aging
- Establish and monitor customer care policies, processes, and procedures to ensure complete homebuyer satisfaction
- Monitor Eliant customer survey results and seek ways to improve our customer experience
- Monitor and manage all social media, email and BBB customer complaints
- Mentor and manage National Directors of Customer Relations and a National Customer Relations Liaison
Safety:
- Train division customer relations associates (field & leadership) and our 3rd party trade partners on the following:
- The importance of jobsite safety and how to create and maintain a safe jobsite
- Proper usage of safety equipment
- Approved/required safety practices
- Safety requirements and guidelines per market
- SiteDoc usage, shortcuts and best practices
- Safety best practices
- Audit division construction teams and 3rd party trade partners to ensure everyone is adhering to Century jobsite safety standards
- Communicate with OSHA and our 3rd party OSHA trainer and auditor regarding escalated division safety issues
- Negotiate citations and fines with OSHA to minimize costs and impact to our construction teams
- Manage 3rd party OSHA trainer and auditor (Pike) to ensure all field associates are OSHA 10/30 certified and know what to do and how to act when an OSHA inspector visits our communities
- Monitor and communicate to division and national leadership OSHA inspection and citation trends per market
- Mentor and manage National Sr. Director of Safety
What You Have:
- In-depth knowledge of the homebuilding industry
- Strong knowledge of residential construction concepts and practices
- Experience analyzing, interpreting and creating production and financial reports
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution capabilities
- Ability to read construction drawings
- Proven ability to build, develop and manage activities of direct reports
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or escalated complaints from homeowners
- Maintain effective working relationships with division associates, Regional Presidents, National Presidents, other members of the National Operations team
- A self-driven team member with a high sense of urgency
- An excellent communicator (written and verbal)
- Willing to travel when necessary
Your Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in single and/or multi-family construction and customer relations management required
- Previous high-volume or public homebuilder experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Contractors license preferred
Century Communities intends to offer the selected candidate an annual base salary in the range of $175,000 – $225,000 with the potential for an Annual Bonus. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance and the Company’s 401k plan.
