Responsibilities

The instrument technician assists the nursing staff on a daily basis by processing--- from decontamination to sterilization--- surgical instruments; the technician also makes certain that all necessary instruments are available when needed by the clinical staff for surgical cases.      

Qualifications

Experience

Must have at least one year of recent experience as an operating room technician surgical attendant anesthesia technician or central processing technician. 

Education

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Certification
Must have American Heart Association BLS certification.

Certification as a Central Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist required (CT SPT)
