Full-Time

M-F 7am-3:30pm with call

$10,000.00 Sign on bonus to Qualified Applicants!

As a member of the interdisciplinary Cardiac Cath Lab team, contributes professional knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) will function within his/her scope of practice in collaboration with the Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) team and under the direction of Physicians.

The RN promotes and restores patients' cardiovascular health by collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team while providing physical and psychological support in a holistic manner to patients and their families. Performs various roles in the Cath Lab setting including, but not limited to: primary assistant to the Cardiologist at the sterile table, secondary circulating and monitoring. Will be on call for off-shifts and weekends. Must meet requirements for standby call which includes a 30-minute response time from activation/call to hospital.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Preferred or Specialized

Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Education:

Graduate of accredited nursing program

BSN degree preferred

Experience:

1 year of Critical Care Nursing experience in ICU or the Emergency Department preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.

Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Completion of one hour of stroke education prior to the end of orientation and annually

Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.

Multicultural sensitivity.

Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.

Customer/patient focused.

Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

Other:

Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities. May drive a UPH vehicle, rental or own vehicle.
