Compensation:
$76,610 – 114,915 annually

Overview:
Housing Hope and HopeWorks agencies are the major non-profit developer of affordable housing and provider of human services in Snohomish County and Camano Island. Our mission is to promote and provide affordable housing and tailored services to reduce homelessness and poverty for residents of Snohomish County and Camano Island. We achieve this through a variety of interventions including social enterprises, children’s services, subsidized housing opportunities and services, employment, education and training services.

Purpose:
Are you a skilled fundraising professional looking to lead a creative and innovative team? Housing Hope is looking for a strategically minded Director of Resource Development, Marketing, and Communications, who will oversee all aspects of the agency’s fundraising, donor relations, marketing, and external communications. The successful candidate will set a long-range vision and a short-term action plan to grow the agency’s philanthropic support through grants and donations, events, marketing, and volunteering. This position supports both Housing Hope and HopeWorks Social Enterprises, and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships both internally and externally.

Housing Hope and HopeWorks are in a time of exciting growth and evolution. The agency recently hired an external consultant to provide a comprehensive review of its fundraising and marketing practices and is looking for a dynamic Director to set long-range goals for the department informed by the consultant’s recommendations. The Director will also have the opportunity to hire at least two new staff members in the coming months to build the team’s capacity to successfully execute ambitious goals. Essential Functions:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the resource development, marketing, and communications teams to set and achieve fundraising goals, including effective donor and community communication. 
• Oversee the creation and management of a comprehensive, long-range fundraising and marketing plan, guided by a recent third-party comprehensive assessment of the agency’s health in these areas.
• Ensure the successful completion of the agency’s current capital campaign, “Nourishing Futures.”
• Serve as the lead staff liaison to the Resource Development Committee, a group of agency Board members and community volunteers who provide strategic guidance to the agency.
• Work closely with the entire Board to educate the membership on fundraising, planned giving, annual giving, special events, donor cultivation and related agency issues.
• Cultivate relationships with prospective and existing donors, both individuals and corporations. 
• Develop annual work plans with each team member to achieve goals in donor relations, corporate gifts, planned giving, grants, events, marketing, public relations, and communications.
• Draft an annual operating budget for the Resource Development Department and manage the department based on the approved budget.
• Create a positive team environment, including supervision for at least eight team members. When team vacancies occur, manage the hiring process with assistance from HR. 
• Must be approachable, collaborative, and able to advocate for the team's needs.
• Bring a positive outlook and genuine belief in the power of change; show enthusiasm and resiliency across all services provided.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of all resource development programs on an ongoing basis.
• Manage other projects and duties as assigned. 
• Assist with other Housing Hope events as directed.

Required Education & Experience:
• At least five years’ experience in fundraising management.
• Ability to form authentic relationships with donors, volunteers, corporations, and grant funders.
• Competency in making direct fundraising asks to donors and serving as an official agency representative in donor meetings and community events. 
• At least three years’ experience with staff supervision and effective management.
• Knowledge of fiscal management and budgeting.
• Knowledge and ability to use computers and Microsoft Office.
• Professional membership in or certification from a national philanthropic organization is desired.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
