Join a growing community bank in Southeast Michigan. Bank Michigan is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior BSA/AML Analyst .
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior BSA/AML Analyst, whether an investigator or regulatory, through the use of experience and expertise will research and analyze account transactions through the use of internal reports and escalated alerts from various business lines to detect transactions that involve potential structuring, money laundering, drug trafficking, terrorism, or operational risk to the Bank and makes a determination on whether or not the activity is deemed unusual/suspicious or not. The Senior BSA/AML Analyst will also provide assistance to the BSA/AML in the department compliance of the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, quality control functions and monitoring pertaining to CTRs, CTR Exemptions, Higher Risk Customer (HRC) types, CIP, OFAC, and other Watch Lists or Sanctions. This is all performed at a more advanced and experienced level than the BSA/AML Analyst and BSA/AML Specialist.
Job Requirements:
Education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or a related field, preferred. CAMS certification, preferred .
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training and Experience:
Minimum 1 year in retail banking, which includes processing customer transactions, new account opening, and/or bank retail operations. Minimum of 3 years prior BSA/AML administration (CTRs, CTR Exemptions, MIL, OFAC) and/or investigative (alerts, case investigations, SAR form) experience which includes proficient working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC regulations. Previous experience with Verafin or equivalent applications. Prior experience working with federal banking regulations and with transaction investigation tools. Strong working knowledge of FIS operating systems or related bank platform software preferred.
Intermediate level in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proven ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency. Proven success implementing organizational systems. Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and judgement skills, with the ability to make sound and reasonable decisions based on analytical data. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast paced, high volume environment. Establishes effective working relationships with team members and other lines of businesses; collaboratively and independently participates in solving problems and making decisions. High level of ethics and confidentiality required.
