The Assistant Director of Transfer Operations will be responsible for the creation of transfer guides, partnership pathway guides, articulation agreements, and transfer evaluations. They will work closely with our recruitment team on articulation initiatives. This position will work with the TES/ARTSYS database systems to update course equivalencies and manage the transfer program guides in ARTSYS. Develop and foster relationships with the community college liaisons and work closely with TU department chairs/deans to articulate programs and define pathways that ensure a smooth transition for transferring students. This position will manage education cohorts/grants through the application process, working closely with the cohort program directors. This position will complete transfer evaluations at the time of admission and represent the military cohort to provide military credits as appropriate. This position will represent TU at recruiting events such as Open Houses, TU4U, and professional information sessions. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and maintain transfer guides, articulation agreements, and partnership pathway guides for in-state and out-of-state, two-year, and four-year institutions. Working closely with the transfer recruitment team to determine articulation needs.  Strategize ways to provide recruiting tools for the recruitment team as it relates to articulation.  
• Maintain working knowledge of TU curriculum, Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), University System of Maryland (USM), and TU policies, applying this knowledge to the transfer guides and articulation agreements and serving as a resource in that regard. 
• Update course equivalencies in the TES and ARTSYS databases.  
• Provide training to departments for database use processes. Meet with department chairs to review existing course equivalencies, updating databases accordingly. Work with departments on transfer course equivalency petitions.
• Manage education cohorts, grant programs, and TAM. Review applications for cohorts and TU off-campus sites (TUNE) as well as USM regional centers (Shady Grove, Southern MD). Work directly with program directors, grant stakeholders, and students.
• Serve as an articulation resource to assigned academic departments on campus. Meeting with department chairs to determine articulation needs. Providing guidance or creating pathways to help them achieve their goals. Be a resource for relevant matters in transfer admissions and evaluations.
• Act as a liaison and resource to assigned Maryland community colleges regarding course articulation, 2+2 partnerships, and transfer guides.  
• Foster relationships with out-of-state community colleges to discuss articulation resources that can yield more transfer students to TU. 
• Review, interpret, and evaluate college transcripts and other documents for newly admitted and currently enrolled transfer students to determine the transferability and applicability of college courses. 
• Resolve discrepancies and facilitate communication with academic departments regarding the review of non-traditional credit as needed.
• Complete general admissions duties including, but not limited to, managing content on our website and in publications, customer service, applicant processing, pre-transfer advising appointments, holistic review, on-campus events, special projects, campus committees, and any other duties as assigned as needed to meet the needs of enrollment and the goals of the university. 
• Represent TU at recruiting events such as Open Houses and Admitted Student Day.  
• Provide information to prospective students in person and via email/phone.

Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree
• Two years of prior experience in higher education (admissions, registrar, or academic advising preferred).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to present to small and large groups of people in various types of venues.
• Must pay attention to detail and possess strong organizational skills.
• The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, interested in and attentive to cross-cultural communication, and someone who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. 
• Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary is $57,000. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
