Job Description and Duties

This position offers an exciting opportunity to participate in delivering a new Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS) with Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS), a unique collaboration involving the California Health and Human Services Office of Technology and Solutions Integration (CalHHS OTSI), the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), and California's Counties and Tribes.

Under the close supervision of the Child Welfare Digital Services Financial Management (FM) Chief (ITM I), the Student Assistant has the opportunity to interact with state financial professionals and assist with budgeting tasks; as well as, building and maintaining a FM SharePoint site. The incumbent will perform financial administrative support duties that require independent action, analysis, and initiative. The incumbent will conduct research, collect information, and perform verification and validation of Excel spreadsheets and planning documents.

Special Requirements

Must be a college student enrolled in classes during the regular term at an accredited college or university and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

• Knowledge and ability to utilize various Microsoft Office programs, including but not limited to Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams; and other computer programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, with peers and within cross-functional teams that have varying styles and/or cultures.
• Knowledge or experience with SharePoint and/or building a website.
