What is a Data & Analytics Program Manager?
The Data & Analytics Program Manager is responsible for developing and driving the strategy, multi-year roadmap and the overall Cloud Analytics Program for the technology team. The Data & Analytics Program Manager will develop and refine processes for effective data analysis and reporting to provide valuable business insights. The Data & Analytics Program Manager is competent in both leading and delivering large scale, multi-year, cloud-based data and analytics initiatives. This role requires a high-level understanding of Enterprise Data Analytics and is responsible for driving adoption across the business. The Data & Analytics Program Manager will be instrumental in working with and providing expertise to various project teams across the business.
What does a Data & Analytics Program Manager do?
The Data & Analytics Program Manager is responsible for the following:
Manages details of the analytics roadmap: inputting roadmap items, deadlines, milestones, etc.
Manages and guides third party vendor relationships related to the analytics program
Ensures the data analytics team is meeting roadmap milestones and deadlines; reports on success/gaps
Develops and maintains relevant reports such as progress visibility, program status, and program metrics
Provides resource demand analysis to recommend project staffing needs and portfolio plans for the analytics program
Supports the escalation of risks, issues, actions, & decisions within the portfolio to ensure on-time / on-budget / in-scope project delivery
Collaborates to develop and drive the company-wide adoption of Data Quality and Data Governance programs and tools
Identifies KPIs or success metrics to measure Data Governance and Data Quality tool adoption and adherence across the organization
Helps promote a Data Governance culture throughout the organization and provide regular reporting on Data Governance metrics and activities
Helps evolve data access, availability, retention, security, privacy and compliance policies and associated enforcement mechanisms
Supports the creation and facilitation of vendor SOWs, RFPs, and project change requests for the analytics program
What does it take to be a Data & Analytics Program Manager?
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Technology or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in an Analytics leadership role
A strong background with an understanding of the intersection between business and analytics to improve efficiency while minimizing data risk
Three or more years’ experience with Microsoft Azure, Snowflake or other cloud data warehouse technologies
Ability to influence business decision-making by providing quantitative/qualitative data analysis
A results-oriented mindset with the ability to solve problems and make decisions with sound judgement
Must have excellent leadership, presentation and communication skills and be comfortable working in a collaborative, high performing team environment
Ability to work with limited direct supervision and professionally respond to constructive feedback
Agile and Waterfall project management methodology experience
Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Experience in Energy & Utilities or services industry
Experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Data Factory
Prior experience with SAP ISU data model
Experience with data visualization tools.
This position has a career path which allows for advancement opportunities within a job series. The title and level are commensurate with experience.
Pay range: $121,000- $211,900
