The Quality Manager at GBP leads the development of the quality team members; develops, implements, and maintains effective quality control processes and standards to ensure customer product requirements are met; and continuously improves quality processes to reduce waste due to nonconformances.

• Review and improve the quality assurance program in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations.
• Lead the Quality team, including Engineer, Analyst and 12-16 Technicians, including setting expectations and providing performance feedback.
• Collaborate cross-functionally:

- With R&D and Technical Service Engineers to understand customer requirements and ensure they are being met by

established quality standards.
- With Procurement to ensure raw materials from external suppliers meet quality requirements.
- With Operations to proactively identify and resolve issues impacting product quality.
• Lead internal training on quality standards and expectations.
• Perform statistical analysis to drive decisions and priorities.
• Lead problem-solving using Root Cause Corrective Action methodology.
• Perform internal quality audits, monitor data trends, identify ways to reduce risk, increase efficiency, and improve existing

quality processes.
• Maintain and control documentation and data, including completion of customer quality surveys.
• Maintain a safe work environment.

• Travel to customers and suppliers as needed to gain first-hand knowledge (10%).

• Other duties as assigned by the Technical Director, or business needs.

 

The Quality Manager reports directly to the Technical Director.

• BS in Quality, Engineering or Science
• 5+ years in a leadership position with direct reporting relationships.
• Working knowledge of statistical methods. Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes. Background in labels/ packaging preferred.
• In-depth understanding of quality control procedures. Familiarity with ISO9001 certification is a plus.

 

This position will work on-site at our division headquarters in Green Bay, WI. This is not a remote position.

The Coated Products Operations consists of three manufacturing plants, four Slitting and Distribution Centers, and a majority interest partnership in Mexico. The CPO manufactures pressure sensitive label stock, utilizing a variety of face stock, adhesive and release liner combinations. Product capabilities include an expanded film line, as well as traditional paper, foil and thermal offerings. The Coated Products facility in Green Bay completed a major expansion, making this plant a state-of-the-art facility. The expansion has doubled the size of this plant, and includes a new building, Coater, Slitters and Automated Sequencing System.
