POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Planner/Scheduler

Position Summary: The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler plans, schedules, and coordinates a broad spectrum of preventive/ predictive, corrective, regulatory and emergency maintenance activities across the plant maintenance operation, using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) as a primary tool. This role also supports the development of SOPs, PM and procurement of equipment, parts and supplies to perform tasks, as well as coordinates rental and leased equipment needs.

Relationships: The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will report directly to the Planning Lead/Supervisor and Sr Engineering & Maintenance Manager and will work closely with other department: Maintenance, Automation, Engineering, Refrigeration, Facilities, Electrical, Production, Load In, Cold Storage, Shipping etc.

Responsibilities will include:

• Utilize CMMS to gather information needed by Administration to determine if goals and objectives are being met (including PM WO, Safety/ Regulatory Compliance, Non-PM WO Efficiency, PM Accuracy, Entry of New Assets as they are introduced into the plant.

• Verify materials needed to do specific tasks/jobs, keep material needs updated in CMMS on a constant basis.

• Help MRO parts Inventory occasionally handing out parts one-two days of the week as WOs get check when time allows it

• Kitting parts for scheduled and unscheduled projects and repairs.

• Coordinate with production/operations to ensure equipment downtime and maintenance wrench time is maximized.

• Track work orders, materials consumed, and costs associated with specific jobs.

• Coordinate with managers & supervisors on job priority, establishing priority levels for the jobs that need to be completed.

• Organize the daily/weekly workload for the Maintenance team members & assign individual tasks to each maintenance team member.

• Ensure that proper materials/supplies are on-site for planned maintenance work orders.

• Work directly with maintenance clerk to organize all parts required to perform work for upcoming wo/projects.

• Maintain and improve the preventive maintenance program

• Validate work order requests, prioritize, plan and schedule.

• Develop a weekly, monthly, and annual schedule for PM's, by asset category.

• Confirm that the CMMS software and data files are complete and current. Modify PM's as necessary to improve effectiveness of PM program.

• Identify vendor service for work that requires outside contractors & work with associated departments for scheduling contractor work.

• Track work orders communicate with operations team (customer), and keep team apprised of any potential backlog.

• Managing asset life cycle schedules.

• Controlling inventory budget, accuracy, and other inventory management functions.

• Contacting suppliers to obtain quotes for parts for all scheduled and unscheduled projects.

• Assist plant personnel with job troubleshooting when required.

• Work with operations personnel to understand work order job descriptions when required

• Assist maintenance and operations personnel with root cause analysis, preventive maintenance optimization, and cost reductions initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED. College degree a plus

• Ability to work alone with minor distractions/talking

• Good organizational and planning skills • Able to implement structural ways of working within the area of responsibility.

• 1 - 3 years of maintenance scheduling / planning experience and/or 3 - 10 years as a maintenance mechanic or equivalent combination of both- Required

• Strong experience with working in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) -required

• Experience in a food environment - required

• Strong Electrical/mechanical knowledge -required

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Outlook-required

• Project management and capital project experience - preferred

• Fluent English language is require (Bi-lingual/Spanish is a plus)

• Other duties assigned by the Inventory leads

The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor elements and/or humid or cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to elevated, underground, crowded, precarious places, chemicals and vibration.
