Job description
Enterprise Engineering (EE), Meta's internal IT organization is looking for an experienced, self-driven Vendor Strategy & Ops Manager who will be accountable for leading the vendor strategy and relationships with EE’s strategic software vendors. This role requires someone with hands-on experience in developing vendor strategy for the software category (SaaS, On premises), negotiations and managing a holistic relationship with a wide array of vendors in this space.This role is expected to drive value for EE through vendor relationships (e.g. cost leverage, performance improvements, innovation, escalation management) and extensive cross-functional collaboration to implement vendor related efficiency initiatives (e.g. application portfolio rationalization, software asset management).
Vendor Strategy & Ops Manager - Software Responsibilities:
- Own the budget for assigned vendors and be accountable for driving efficiencies through better deal structures, demand controls and license management
- Design, collaborate and implement programs (e.g. portfolio rationalization, license allocation controls, asset management) to streamline third party software landscape across Meta
- End-to-end ownership of non-operational (e.g. financial, risk, relationship, performance escalations, compliance, vendor driven innovation) management of large vendors within software category
- Uplevel existing vendor relationships to ensure alignment on strategic goals, influence product roadmaps and manage escalated issues
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience managing senior level relationships with enterprise SaaS vendors
- 7+ years of enterprise technology procurement and contract negotiations experience with SaaS vendors
- Experience working in a fast paced environment and in a role that requires influencing across different levels in the organization (internal and vendors)
- Proven knowledge of licensing models and key contract terms in SaaS agreements
- Experience leading large, company level software optimization initiatives (e.g. app rationalization, license optimization)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience supporting CIO orgs as a management/technology consultant
- Deep understanding of vendor landscape, and vendor’s profitability levers, operating model, account management practices and product roadmapping process
- Proven experience to quickly earn stakeholder trust, mobilize and influence teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, execute with limited information and ambiguity
