Job Description

The Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) Prevention and Education program is seeking part-time instructors to teach the Learning to Breathe curriculum to adolescents and/or adults throughout Davis County.

Primary Job Duties

Learning to Breathe instructors are expected to perform the following assignments as essential functions of the position:

The Strengthening Families Program Instructors are compensated with the following rates:

Location

Classes are offered throughout Davis County.

Schedule

The work schedule for Learning to Breathe instructors is variable depending on the needs of the school and community and the availability of the instructor.

Instructors may be assigned between 1-5 days per week to teach classes during a teaching cycle, depending on need. During times of active teaching, it is anticipated that an instructor will have an average of 10 hours of work per week.

Instructors are primarily needed for daytime teaching during school hours.

Individual and/or group consultation/supervision may be required 1-2 hours per week.

Individual preparation time for teaching, corresponding with schools, and completing fidelity checks is also required and ranges from 1-2 hours per week.

Skills/Abilities

The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.

Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Further, a ll employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as part of DBH's licensing agreement with the State of Utah. Failure to pass either screening will result in the termination of any job offer submitted and/or employment for any individual who has started employment while the criminal background screening is in process. Pending and/or open charges will likely impact a candidate's ability to pass the pre-employment criminal background screening.
