Job description

AREA: Distribution JOB DESCRIPTION: Driver, Donut and Warehouse REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to and functions under the general direction and supervision of the Driver Supervisor. PURPOSE Provides for product and supply delivery to retail outlets, and courier service between retail outlets and the main office. QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to drive trucks with rated weight capacities of over one ton and up to but not including four tons in hauling cargo over public roads. Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to use vehicle dispatch procedures and delivery schedules. Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Good judgment and reasoning ability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Delivers cargo ensuring it is properly loaded/unloaded and that loads are properly distributed, secured and within maximum rated weight capacity. Follow all safety and traffic rules and drive carefully to prevent accidents and avoid damage and injury, that they exercise caution when entering/leaving stores to prevent damage to buildings and store property, and that they place perishable goods delivered to stores in refrigerators/freezers and that stores are secured upon departure. Courier payrolls and documents ensuring they are kept confidential and delivered to the correct destination within 24 hours. Immediately forwards all accident/incident reports to the Supervisor of Drivers. Maintains vehicle logs and dispatch records. Reports any and all needed vehicle maintenance and repair to the Supervisor of Drivers. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Handles objects weighing up to 50 pounds and may be exposed to inclement weather during loading and unloading operations and while driving. Drives in all types of traffic and is exposed to risk of motor vehicle accident. Otherwise, work is performed in an office type environment with little physical demands and minimal exposure to risk and discomfort. Many Dunkin' restaurants are owned and operated by an independent franchisee. Each Dunkin' franchisee is an independent employer and thus solely responsible for hiring decisions and all other employment-related matters for the franchisee’s restaurant(s).
