General Position Scope:
Responsibilities include the assessment of interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and risk to equity of the bank and to manage that risk in a way that ensures maximum earnings potential without exposing the bank to unreasonable risks. This includes but is not limited to oversight of the investment portfolio, balance sheet funding, repurchase agreement accounts, and public accounts compliance with State and local laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assessing interest rate risk relating to Bank profitability which includes balance sheet modeling.
Performing duties involving asset - liability management that allow the Bank to maintain its profitability margins.
Administering and managing the Bank’s investment portfolio to achieve optimal profitability without excessive risk exposure.
Developing strategies that present the best funding and deposit pricing in order to be competitive within the Bank’s market regions.
Administering and monitoring the Bank’s “public funds” accounts to ensure that competitive pricing is maintained while at the same time guarding against profitability erosion. Also monitoring legal pledge requirements and compliance with all laws affecting public deposits.
Reporting to executive management and the Audit & Risk Management Committee of the board on the trends in asset / liabilities management, investment portfolio strategies and other processes that can increase Bank profitability.
Monitoring and reporting of the Bank’s Financial Counterparty exposure.
Overseeing the Treasury staff.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
Perform other duties as requested.
Participate in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program by making referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred area of study in finance or accounting, Master’s degree preferred
Ten (10) or more years of ACLO experience in commercial bank and/or investment portfolio management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary
Ability to make difficult decisions and handle multiple tasks
Strategic and business strategy experience required
Committee Duties:
Asset/Liability Committee - Chairman
Reports to the Board Risk Committee and Enterprise Risk Committee
