Job description
We are looking for individuals with friendly and welcoming personalities to join our dynamic and customer-focused team as Guest Service Representatives. If you have a knack for providing immediate and courteous attention to hotel guests both in person and over the phone, you will excel in this role. Your primary responsibilities will include handling guest inquiries, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and addressing any issues or complaints promptly. As the face of our top-tier hotel, we expect you to exhibit the highest level of professionalism and maintain a clean and tidy appearance. Please note that only applicants currently authorized to work in the United States and residing in the Sunnyvale, CA area will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and register hotel guests, providing them with the highest level of customer service during their stay and carefully settle their accounts afterwards.
- Respond to and direct all telephone calls, taking messages if needed.
- Maintain a professional bearing at all times.
- Accurately post charges to guests’ accounts during shift.
- Track and manage balances for each department, and accurately complete shift deposits.
- Reserve rooms while maximizing hotel revenues.
- Assist guests with finding local restaurants, stores, and other amenities.
- Be familiar with upcoming groups, VIPs, and special events.
- Monitor the progress of housekeeping and update room statuses correctly.
- Process early departures and changes in reservations made in the hotel's Property Management System.
- Properly follow mail and receiving procedures.
- Regularly keep the workspace clean and sanitary.
- Fill out and update the daily logbook.
- Finish all necessary checklists during shift.
- Arrange airport taxi or limousine rides for guests upon request.
- Perform any other tasks requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Possess a friendly, energetic, and welcoming personality.
- Hold a high school or equivalent diploma.
- Demonstrate team-oriented motivation and a positive attitude.
- Showcase excellent verbal communication skills and a customer service-focused attitude.
- Preferably have prior hotel experience.
- Display ability to quickly solve problems and adjust to a fast-paced work environment.
- Possess basic math skills to do counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Have the flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Live in or near Sunnyvale, CA.
