Job description

FNF Construction, Inc. is a general contractor providing heavy civil construction services throughout the Southwestern United States, including Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. We are searching for a Paving Superintendent with at least 5 years of supervisory and heavy/highway construction experience. Candidates must have an acceptable 3 year driving history to operate a company vehicle. Must be willing to travel.

The Paving Superintendent will arrange the work of one or more paving crews and coordinate activities of workers engaged in paving, rolling, tamping, and patching asphalt or similar material to form surfaces of highways and streets.

Provides overall on-site leadership and management on a construction project site. The Superintendent is considered the Company's representative and main point of contact on the construction site. The Superintendent handles the flow of communication between on-site representatives, on-site inspectors, subcontractors, and craft employees. The Superintendent plans, coordinates, and supervises onsite functions including scheduling and day-to-day direction of field personnel.

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Paving Superintendent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.

Frequently work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of hand power tools.

Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 30 pounds and, at times, as much as 50 pounds, as may be assigned.

Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.

Must be able to climb on and off heavy equipment safely.

Capable of safely and productively operating a man-lift.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Paving Superintendent encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction site.

Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.

Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on a construction site such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and asphalt.
