Remote PCB Design Engineer
Kelly® Engineering is seeking an PCB Design Engineer for a remote contract opportunity with a client in Auburn Hills, MI. This is with a manufacturer involved in vehicle electrification. Overview
Our client develops vehicle charging stations and is currently in the design/prototyping phase of a new charging station using a novel more cost-effective power conversion method that has 480 input and converts to 200, 800-1000v output.
You’ll generate PCB layouts from schematics as well as maintain the eCAD library. You will work with the lead engineer and new product development manager. You will work remotely on a set schedule Monday - Friday 8-5PM EST and be part of an international development team. There may be occasionally travel to the Detroit area for meetings.
Responsibilities:
Design PCBs per schematic and other documented requirements
High voltage in excess of 10kW power flow
Various type of surface mount boards: IMS, FR-4, flex
Power distribution on the board
Altium
eCAD – sourcing, library cataloging, maintenance and creation of new components to design library
Work within design requirements defined Engineers and company.
Generate gerbers and associated data in accordance with industry design standards
Must complete assigned tasks within the established project timelines.
Active collaboration with electrical engineer required
Qualifications:
10+ years PCB/A design experience in the following areas required:
Altium proficiency
SMT board design of differing types - IMS, FR-4, Flex
Board design with greater than 10kW power flow
Design isolation between high voltage, digital and analog circuits.
EMC layout design
Analog and digital board
eCAD library experience – working knowledge.
Familiarity with electronics industry standards related to PCB design.
Familiarity with industry standards for high voltage and high current PCB design
Interpersonal relations require professional verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage technical details.
Experience with vehicle charging products, utility products, or power generating products a plus.
Adhere to an 8AM-5PM Eastern standard time work schedule.
May have to travel to Auburn Hills for meetings
