The Digital Services Librarian will oversee the library website and ensure content is current, participate in the design and maintenance of the library catalog interface, provide staff training in electronic resources, and troubleshoot issues. The person in this position will provide leadership and expertise related to user experience for library customers and staff. This position will select and manage local eResource subscriptions and will serve as the Olathe Public Library liaison to the Johnson County Library for the purchase, implementation and troubleshooting of joint eResources.

Qualifications

Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:

Experience: A minimum of three years of professional library experience and experience managing and maintaining websites is required. Preference is given to candidates with public library experience, experience with the Sirsi library information system, three or more years of experience managing electronic resources, a demonstrated ability to work with the public, and experience in the user experience.

Education: A master’s degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited school is required.
