What you can expect to be doing:

Haley Ward is looking for a Licensed Site Professional (LSP) to work in one of our Massachusetts offices to assist municipal, commercial, industrial, governmental, and institutional clients with environmental compliance programs and environmental investigations in the fields of soil, groundwater, and air remediation. Environmental compliance related activities are typically associated with Wastewater Discharge Licenses, Multi-Sector General Permits, Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Permits, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, Watershed Management Plans, as well as other requirements associated with the NPDES, CERCLA, RCRA, and SPCC regulatory programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops investigation plans to assess properties for contamination of hazardous waste and oversees implementation.
• Analyzes technical problems; devises new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions.
• Completes inspections and audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and prepares summaries of findings.
• Prepares and reviews compliance reports and technical reports to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Active and varied business development to foster growth of firm’s Massachusetts environmental presence.
• Cultivates existing personal business relationships including periodic client meetings, proposal, and budget development.

Working Conditions

Works in both field and office settings. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions. Work hours are subject to change based on project schedules.

What you will need to succeed:

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geology, or equivalent work experience.
• Current and valid Licensed Site Professional (LSP) required.
• Strong familiarity with statutes, regulations, and policies governing assessment and remediation of contaminated sites, including, but not limited to, M.G.L. c. 21E and 310 CMR 40.0000, the Massachusetts Contingency Plan.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist is preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of relevant experience.
• 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required.
