LRF Program Manager & Training Assistant

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Managing scheduling, estimating, and ledgers; supervising and troubleshooting project execution; reconciling project budgets against actual expenditures and spending projections; project reporting and communications. OR AA/HS Degree

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of HPTC?s Preservation Services SOP and related documents and the HPTC Project Leader SOP and their application to preservation project work. Field experience related to the execution of preservation work and how the knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through project work relate to the ability to successfully plan, schedule and execute a project. In-depth knowledge and experience with the NPS MAT Program and the use of LRF funds, related scheduling, budgetary and reporting requirements, and the processes involved with planning and designating LRF projects within a given fiscal year.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Adobe Acrobat; MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint

Duties:

Enrollee will be working with the HPTC Deputy Superintendent, Division Managers, Section Supervisors, and various Administrative staff, as well as the Service-Wide MAT Program Coordinator, Regional MAT Coordinators and others related to the MAT/LRF Program to monitor, track, and coordinate Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF) projects at the direction of HPTC Deputy Superintendent. Enrollee will also assist HPTC Training staff with presenting training to HPTC Exhibits Specialists related to the HPTC Preservation Services SOP and documents and the HPTC Project Leader SOP. Will also assist with modifying, revising and updating the noted SOPs as necessary under the direction of HPTC Deputy Superintendent.

  • Monitor active and projected LRF projects within the Northeast and National Capital Regions to enable ongoing coordination, tracking, and status updates of LRF projects across HPTC sections and regions. Work with HPTC Section Managers to provide accurate and timely project schedules, budgets, and reporting. Provide periodic updates and reports as necessary to HPTC Deputy Superintendent, Service-Wide MAT Program Coordinator and Regional MAT Coordinators. Work with HPTC Project Planning & Development Program Coordinator as needed with system-wide project planning, keeping them informed of LRF project status and planning for future projects.   50%
  • Work with HPTC Training staff to plan, develop and present training to HPTC Exhibits Specialists related to the HPTC Preservation Services SOP and documents and the HPTC Project Leader SOP. Training will be based on extensive knowledge of the noted SOPs and documents and their application to project work. Assist with revising the noted SOPs and documents as necessary based on new information, lessons learned, document updates, and changes in operations or procedures. Revisions will be discussed in advance and approved prior to implementation by HPTC Deputy Superintendent.   50%
Other:
  • Travel Requirements: Travel to HPTC HUB locations as needed to present training.
  • Overnight travel: Potential of up to three times per quarter for one to four nights per trip depending on location.
  • Air travel anticipated: Potential of up to three times per quarter depending on location.
  • Rental cars: Potential of up to three times per quarter depending on location.
  • Required Safety Gear: The enrollee will be required to wear a hard hat and any other applicable safety equipment when in a designated work zone if visiting a project work site.
  • Physical requirements: If applicable, please describe physical requirements. The physical effort required is considered light. Work is typically performed in an office setting using computers, a desk and desk chair. Incumbent may be required to climb stairs and carry equipment that is typically less than 30 lbs in weight. Work may require travel in a gov vehicle, or on public transportation such as a plane, which will require sitting for potentially long periods of time.
  • Remote work arrangements are available for this position.
