Job description
Reporting to the ______, the ____ Unit Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the ____ unit. Job responsibilities include budget development and management, personnel development and management, quality oversight, and department strategic planning. The Manager is a key member of the Hospital's leadership team and represents the Nursing Division on several interdisciplinary workgroups. Minimum Qualifications: Education: BSN required; MS preferred. Required Licenses & Certifications: Current California RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS). PALS and TNCC preferred for ED Manager. Experience: 3 – 5 years related departmental experience. 2 years leadership experience (i.e. charge nurse); previous management experience preferred. Skills & Abilities: Basic proficiency with PC, word processing, spreadsheets. Effective written and verbal skills. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. Previous CQI experience. Previous electronic medical records (I.e. EPIC) preferred. Good crisis management/prioritization abilities. Physical Requirements: Sit: Up to 3 hours/day Stand/Walk: 6-8 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours Reach: Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 6 hrs Lift/Push/Pull: 25lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and/or instruction.
