Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Wellness Assistant to join our team at our KCK PACE Center. The Wellness Assistant will work closely with our wellness team to provide support and assistance in various aspects of our wellness programs specific to our innovative PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model. This role will involve coordinating and implementing wellness initiatives, planning and organizing wellness events, and supporting the health and well-being of our program participants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wellness and helping others live a healthy and balanced lifestyle in the unique context of the PACE program.

Midland Care’s Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is a not-for-profit health care program that helps people at risk for needing nursing home care who meet a level of care requirement stay in their own homes and communities.

Employment Status: Full-time | Monday-Friday | 8am-5pm

Pay Rate starting at $12/hr. (pay is based of like experience/requirements)

Service

• Assists with physical, occupational, speech, and wellness therapy.
• Assists in aqua swim group as needed.
• Performs and/or assists the participant with personal care activities.
• Establishes therapeutic relationships with participants and families from a variety of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Provides emotional support to participants and families in a manner that fosters independence and affirms existing strengths.

Qualifications

Required: Must possess a valid Driver’s License, in force automobile liability insurance and maintain a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets organization’s insurability standard as defined by Midland policy. Availability of reliable transportation is required for this position. Due to insurance company requirements, must be 18 years of age or older to work in participants’ homes. Must have one year of experience working with elderly individuals or equivalent education/training.
