Job Description


Alabama State University, Division of Business and Finance, invites applications for the position of Director of Contracting and Acquisitions (opened until filled ) . This position reports to the Vice President for Business and Finance, and supervises the operations of the Office of Contracts & Acquisitions in a manner to promote and ensure conformity with all applicable laws, policies, standards, and regulations; facilitates acquisition of materials, supplies and services; as well as, assures total compliance of the bid process for contracts and services and the oversight of all outside contracts for revenue streams for the various cost centers and units of the university in a manner to promote economic buying and revenue profits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications


A Bachelor's degree in business administration (Master's degree preferred), management, logistics, and/or accounting, 5-7 years of experience in soliciting, coordinating or sufficiently managing the acquisition of goods and services, 5-7 years of management and supervisory experience, and working knowledge and understanding of applicable state and federal purchasing regulations are required. Must have exceptional operational skills, analytical skills, well developed interpersonal skills, numeracy skills, communication skills, team working skills, management and leadership skills, diplomacy, and the ability to motivate people.
