Job description
We are seeking an experienced and talented Data Engineer to join this growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, data architecture, and expertise in utilizing Microsoft Azure technologies and Snowflake to build robust and scalable data solutions. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and optimizing the data infrastructure to support the organization's analytical and reporting needs. This role has high visibility to executive leadership and must be able to effectively communicate at all levels.
Data Engineer Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of scalable and efficient data pipelines, ensuring the seamless flow of data across various systems
Optimize and maintain existing data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability
Define and implement a robust data architecture strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives
Design and maintain data models, ensuring data integrity, normalization, and efficient querying
Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the architecture supports advanced analytics and reporting requirements
Utilize Microsoft Azure services and tools to build and manage data solutions, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics
Stay updated on the latest Azure technologies and best practices, incorporating them into the data engineering processes
Implement and optimize data storage and processing using Snowflake, ensuring high-performance data warehousing
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design Snowflake solutions that support effective data analysis and reporting
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Collaborate with other technical leaders to align data engineering efforts with overall technology and business strategies
Data Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable data solutions
In-depth knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure technologies and services
Strong proficiency in working with Snowflake for data warehousing
Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, or others commonly used in data engineering
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Azure and/or Snowflake certification
Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark
Familiarity with DevOps practices for data engineering
Experience working in an Agile development environment
