Fabrication and Sheet Metal Specialist

Transwall Office Systems, Inc., has an immediate opening in the Metal Shop. Founded in 1963 and based in West Chester, PA, Transwall is a developer and manufacturer of moveable floor-to-ceiling and architectural wall systems. • 4 days per week Monday-Thursday
• Overtime opportunity on Fridays as needed
• 5:00am - 3:30pm

Pay:

$19.00-25.00/ hour

Summary:

Sets up and operate machines to support production operations that require close tolerances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, edit and operate brake press machine and/ or turret press
• Operate lift truck and overhead crane
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabrication
• Select correct material according to specifications
• Performs quality checks by inspecting pre and post operation for conformance to specification
• Identify and report any defects in material
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment
• Make recommendations for process improvements
• All other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years manufacturing, production experience
• Working knowledge of Computer Numeric Controls and machine tools
• Working knowledge of hand tools (i.e. Drills, grinders, sanders)

Requirements:

• Able to read and interpret basic blueprints and sketches
• Must be able to accurately read a tape measure and caliper
• Must be able to accurately measure materials with a tape measure and caliper
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend basic instructions
• Must be able to accurately perform basic math calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
• Able to operate moving machinery

Physical Demands

• Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Able to lift up to 50# frequently
• Able to flex hours and work overtime as needed
