Job summary: The Role of the Maintenance Superintendent is to provide expertise required to support safe, successful execution, definition, problem solving, and coordination of all maintenance related work activities within the area designated
JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and Responsibilities
Leading the maintenance team to work injury-free / incident free in a manufacturing environment.
Ensure safety excellent through leading by examples, promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implementing the appropriate mitigation strategies based on the risk involved.
Supervising and coordinating maintenance efforts that driving improvement in all associated work processes affecting HSE, reliability, quality, production and cost in his or her designated area.
Identify, plan and implement solutions to address root causes of failures in a timely manner.
Responsible for the performance and development of area maintenance team by demonstrating strong leadership skill and habits of best practice.
Providing leadership in implementing and or maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs and working with other managers to ensure proper maintenance schedule.
Ensuring that follow-up RCAs are completed to identify and resolve recurring downtime and or inefficient operational issues.
Ensuring that maintenance team use appropriate the CMMS.
Coordinate and plan the preventative outage on his or her designated area; guarantee the creation of the WO though the CMMS, pre- and post-outage meetings.
Involvement in contractor management.
Manage area KPIs:
HSE
Downtime.
Outage efficient.
FA and ABC action plan.
Ability to read blueprints.
Create test procedures, write documentations and reports.
Provide technical support during downtime.
Communicate regularly with all levels of the plant.
Maintain a positive attitude and promote a teamwork mentality.
Working conditions
Ability to support facility needs at all hours (On call schedule)
Ability to communicate, hear and understand verbal instruction
Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. on an infrequent basis, carrying up to 10 feet distance
Ability to effectively and appropriately wear PPE in required areas. PPE may include items such as; hard hat, face shield, spats, thermal gloves, safety glasses (eye protection), chaps, hearing protection and steel toed boots
Ability to withstand and work with hot (up to 125 degrees,) and cold temperatures, strong fumes, working with different types of hazardous chemicals, grease, dust, dirt, grime, loud noise (up to 100 Db)
Job specifications
BS in engineering or related field is required or provide experience in similar positions.
Full competency with MS Office and general computer operations
Must have 5+ years experience supervising in an industrial manufacturing environment. Must understand intricacies of unique production equipment and use this knowledge to enhance operational metrics
Must possess strong written and communication skills
Ability to effectively lead and manage a diverse team through delegation and empowerment, drive projects through to completion, and build a team-oriented environment
Experience using Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
