Your Impact:

For our radiation services community of practice, that means using innovative approaches to provide effective client solutions for complex environmental solutions. We’re seeking a mid to senior level Radiation Health Physicist to support projects for our U.S Army Corps of Engineer and Department of Energy clients, though our portfolio is broad, and many other clients and projects are included. Projects will involve a variety of engineering design support and field implementations for radiological assessments and remediation, decommissioning, plan development, data evaluation, desktop research and document reviews. Must have experience in environmental projects that evaluate soil, groundwater, surface water, or sediments. Projects could be executed under EPA, NRC, Agreement States, USACE , or Tribal Agency authority and may include investigations, risk assessments, feasibility studies, engineering analysis, remedial actions, and closures.

It is expected that field tasks would be required routinely and may include performing and/or leading teams during surveys and assessments. Additionally, characterizing radiological materials in various matrices, implementing radiation safety practices, maintaining radiation protection programs, and regulatory compliance during project activities.

A balance of site and office work is expected. Preference will be given to candidates located in E. Tennessee, W. Pennsylvania and Upstate NY.

Opportunities for leadership and ownership on projects is expected and developing technical as well as project management skills will be further developed. Writing clearly, presenting technical approaches, and justifying decisions are essential, as we help clients obtain regulatory and community acceptance and close projects.

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of equipment, field instruments, supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. Criticality of Attendance:

• Must be able to work within the normal daytime shift

• With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Equipment and Machines:

• Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Other Essential Functions:

• Must be able to secure and maintain a security clearance.

• Must pass drug testing.

• Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
