Job description
Duties include teaching 12 credit hours per semester, student advisement, engaging in scholarly activities and professional service, and working on departmental, college, and university-wide committees. The successful candidate will teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, which may include introduction to sport and recreation, sociology of sport, sport facility and event management, sport governance, sport communications, management of sport and recreational organizations, sport law, risk management in sport, sport sales, and other courses as needed. Candidate must be willing to teach online courses and be proficient in online course delivery. Additional responsibilities include maintaining office hours in accordance with university policy and performing other duties as assigned. Applicants should have a high commitment to effective classroom and online teaching, student advising and mentoring, curriculum development, research/scholarship, and professional activity.
A doctoral degree in Sport Management, Sport Administration, or closely related field is required. ABD candidates may be considered. Background in teaching at the university level (undergraduate as well as graduate) and student mentoring is desired. Willingness and ability to teach online courses and be proficient in online course delivery is required.
