The current base salary range for this position is $59,727-$113,704 'Off-scale' salaries, which yield compensation that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

Position description

The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment is seeking to hire an Associate Director to coordinate climate change research initiatives. The Associate Director will play a key role in CLEE's leadership and strategy with a combination of responsibilities across program development, research coordination and management, project management, and outreach and communications.

The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE) is based at the UC Berkeley School of Law, which benefits from one of the leading environmental law programs in the nation. Building on UC Berkeley's history of and commitment to research and public service, CLEE leverages the intellectual resources of Berkeley faculty and students in furtherance of applied research in a variety of environmental and energy law and policy areas. CLEE's research priorities include combating climate change, advancing sustainable energy, addressing water allocation and management challenges, and sustaining healthy oceans, among other pressing environmental and energy challenges.

The Associate Director will manage research projects, supervise the research fellow programs, support organizational fundraising, and collaborate on organizational strategy and development. Tasks may include guiding research projects, convening expert workshops, and leading development of research projects, blog posts, and other outputs; coordinating project planning and career development for research fellows; conducting outreach and coordination with stakeholders and partners, managing research , graduate students, and other affiliates, identifying publication opportunities, and engaging in outreach with interested parties, media, and academics, and others.

This position is located in Berkeley.
