HCI is a leading multi-unit management company based in Manhattan, Kansas. HCI's largest brand is Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers franchises with 40+ locations throughout the Midwest, Texas, and East Coast. HCI manages three locally owned and operated restaurants in Manhattan and Junction City and offers full-service catering to the central Kansas area. In 2021 HCI added Booth Creek Wagyu, Meatworks of Kansas processing plant in Riley, KS, and Booth Creek Wagyu Retail store in Manhattan. The newest additions were developed in 2023, adding two retail stores, one in Overland Park and Wichita, KS.
Job Description
As an Assistant Facilities Manager, you will support the Facilities Manager in overseeing the maintenance and operation of our organization’s facilities. You will assist in coordinating various aspects of facility management, including building repairs and maintenance, space planning, and safety compliance. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our facilities are well-maintained, efficient, and safe for employees and visitors.
(This position has the potential to be developed into the Facility Manager within 6-12 months)
- Support the Facilities Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities, including building maintenance, and repairs.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate general maintenance, major repairs, and remodeling or construction projects for properties.
- Maintain records of maintenance, operating costs, and special permits issued.
- Coordinate and oversee operations, maintenance, administration, and improvement of properties.
- Communicate with vendors and contractors to obtain quotes, schedule work, and ensure quality and timely completion of projects.
- Assist in managing the facility budget, tracking expenses, and analyzing cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building code, and environmental standards.
- Monitor and respond promptly to facilities-related emergencies in person.
- Provide training and guidance to staff members regarding facilities-related policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, or related field, preferred. (3 years’ experience in lieu of education).
- Knowledge of facilities operations; facility management principles and practices.
- 1-2 years of leadership and management experience required.
- Computer literacy
- Experience with a centralized facility service center preferred.
- Experience with quick service restaurants preferred.
- Ability to execute basic repairs in emergency situations.
