Job description
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a QC Lab Technician in Memphis, TN.
Temp to Hire
Shift: 12-hour shifts: 7 am to 7 pm for the first two days, 7 pm to 7 am for the next two days, followed by four days off
Compensation: $20/hr DOE

Role Description:
Provide analytical analysis to the plant and R&D organization, including inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process samples, final product samples, and shipments.
Perform daily standards and calibrations on the instrumentation.
Principal Accountabilities:
Conduct inspection and testing activities in accordance with ISO specifications, utilizing standard practices and procedures, including pH, GC, GC-MS, HPLC, etc.
Verify and calibrate all test equipment as per manufacturing recommendations, ASTMs, and test methods.
Undertake activities for continuous improvement of laboratory operations, including minor maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of instruments, test methods, and laboratory practices.
Participate in continuous improvement activities leading to enhanced accuracy, repeatability, gage R&R, productivity, reliability, and efficiency of instruments, test methods, and laboratory practices, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance.
Record data accurately and prepare routine reports related to inspection and test results.
Enter all product data and control standard data into QC Database and SAP.
Identify trends using basic SPC and control charting techniques resulting from testing.
Adhere to SH&E guidelines and policies, ensuring personal safety within the workplace.
Provide pertinent data to the plant operations leadership group to facilitate troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist, support, and take direct responsibility for certain plant compliance management requirements.
Act as the primary resource for methods development support for R&D's new product development program, while coordinating analytical support for the R&D synthesis chemists and the plant's needs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology preferred; bachelor's degree in science required.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of lab experience in a chemical plant environment preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of analytical chemistry, including methods development.
Operational and maintenance knowledge of analytical testing equipment such as HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS, and IR Spectrophotometry.
Familiarity with QC/QA practices.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in analytical testing experience, SPC, SQC, and basic statistical methods.
Understanding of plant environmental, safety, and process safety requirements, with the ability to perform audits and maintain records.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong command of the English language, including grammar and composition.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone during shifts up to 12 hours in length.
