Job Description


The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for improvement of maintenance processes, equipment efficiency, and overall reliability of the assigned area. The Superintendent must keep the equipment consistent with general plant objectives. The Superintendent develops and implements programs and oversees projects to improve their department’s performance in safety, quality, productivity, cost and the work environment. The Superintendent collaborates with operations, technical management, and all other support groups directing the activities of professional, craft, supervisory and outside contract workers.

1. Schedule and supervise all maintenance activities.

2. Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance activities for the area.

3. Oversee spare parts storeroom.

4. Attend daily production activity meetings as requested.

5. Oversee off-the-floor repair activities (repair shop and vendor activities).

6. Team member for oversight for 3rd party maintenance services (water treatment, parts repair services, etc.)

7. Team member of energy conservation team.

8. Manage budget of Maintenance Department including the Storeroom and Powerhouse budgets.

9. Manage shutdown work schedules.


Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5+ years of experience OR 10+ years of relevant experience if no relevant Bachelor's Degree

5+ years of experience in Maintenance/Engineering Supervision and 3+ years in Maintenance Planning, with formal detailed instruction in the technical field, along with discipline in the areas of business
