Manufacturing Engineer / Industrial Engineer / Mechanical Engineer :
- Ensure efficient and high-quality production of passenger railcar components. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implementing engineering solutions, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes related to carshell structure fabrication for passenger railcar to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with the design team to assess the manufacturability of the product
- Conduct thorough reviews of design specifications, identifying potential challenges, and proposing engineering solutions to enhance manufacturability.
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement innovative solutions to enhance production capabilities
- Design and develop fixtures and tooling for fabrication processes to enhance precision, repeatability, and efficiency
- Collaborate with the design and production teams to create custom fixtures that optimize the welding and assembly processes
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for fixtures and tooling, considering durability and performance requirements
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and specifications
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any manufacturing-related issues affecting product quality
- Act as a key point of contact for any design-related incidences or discrepancies that may arise during the manufacturing process
- Investigate and analyze design issues, working in conjunction with the design and production teams to implement timely and effective resolutions
- Develop and maintain documentation detailing incident resolutions and lessons learned to inform future design improvements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for manufacturing issues
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering,Aerospace Engineering,Mechatronics Engineering,Robotics Engineering,Automotive Engineering,Aeronautical engineering, etc
- Previous experience in such roles as : Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies and continuous improvement techniques
- Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes
- Experience in fixture and tooling design
- Proficiency in CAD software ( CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks )
- Rolling stock manufacturing experience will be a big plus
- Knowledge of welding processes and techniques and familiarity with AWS (American Welding Society) welding codes and standards will be a plus
