Overview:
The Holmes Student Center provides the campus community with a gathering place that enhances student life, cultivates unity and promotes development through a variety of cultural, educational, social and recreational programs. The Main Desk Attendant is part of the Hotel at Holmes team at the Holmes Student Center. The Main Desk Attendant ensures a welcoming and friendly environment for hotel guests and visitors.
Position Summary:
Successfully work with hotel guests, visitors, and the public to accommodate customer service and lodging needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service (30%)
- Provide a high level of customer service for students, visitors and guests of the Holmes Student Center and guests of the Hotel at Holmes.
- Staff the hotel information desk; answer questions and direct visitors to the correct campus resource or location.
- Answer hotel phone calls and check phone messages.
- Make/book hotel guest reservations utilizing reservation software.
- Make hotel keys for guests.
- Process hotel guest check in and check out.
- Provide hotel guests with additional hospitality items, as requested.
- Accommodate special needs and requests of guests.
- Check hotel email and respond to email inquiries.
- Monitor the fire panel and weather radio.
Housekeeping (25%)
- Fold hotel linens and stock hotel supply closets and the hotel desk.
- Assist with hotel housekeeping based on operational needs.
- Inspect hotel rooms after cleaning.
- Log lost and found items and reach out to the guests that left them behind.
- Notify Hotel Manager of work order issues.
Cash Handling (20%)
- Count cash drawer.
- Print daily flash report.
- Keep accurate records for audit purposes.
- Check cash bags in and out.
Training (15%)
- Assist in training student and extra help staff on hotel information desk and housekeeping procedures.
Projects (5%)
- Assist with related projects as assigned.
Other Duties (5%)
- Other related duties as assigned
