JOB DESCRIPTION: A state-of-the-art materials testing laboratory in Schenectady, NY is currently seeking a full-time employee for its machining operations. A successful candidate will demonstrate a machining background , mechanical dexterity, communication skills, organizational skills, and have a positive attitude. This is a unique career opportunity for those who desire hands-on work and using a variety of machining technologies. JOB DUTIES: - View drawings and blueprints to understand what dimensions the materials need to be cut or shaped - Think creatively to determine the most effective and efficient way to cut the material into the desired shape and size - Select the proper materials and tools to get the job done, such as calipers, drills, and mills - Set up and program the cutting machines to make the part, using CAD and CNC software - Inspect finished product to ensure accuracy

QUALIFICATIONS: - Completed high school diploma or GED - CNC operation/programming experience - Experience working with and understanding blueprints - Fundamental understanding of M & G codes - Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, and attention to detail - Strong organizational and time management skills - Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, in a physical environment
