Job description

We love books! We love buying and selling them!

We believe reading empowers people, offering them empathy to live for a moment in someone else's shoes, education—a critical asset to improving one's life—and an occasional escape to fantastic worlds inhabited by interesting characters. Yes, we save millions of books every year from being destroyed, but our mission goes beyond the environment. We save these books and make them accessible to readers for the chance to shape another mind, share another story, and teach a bit of wisdom.

The Supply Buyer is a strategic role within the overall supply chain organization. The role serves as the chief gatekeeper to success in our operation. This person will be responsible for the procurement of books and media, building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with our suppliers and evaluating future/potential suppliers for future growth.

You’ll need excellent organizational skills, an insatiable curiosity to improve process, supply KPI’s and information and confidence to present to senior leaders both internally and externally.

Key objectives will be to meet/exceed traditional supply chain goals surrounding inventory quality/turns, etc. while adding value to the company financially by optimizing our procurement portfolio volume and value.
