Job description
The Audio Algorithm Engineer (DSP / ML) supports the research and development of next generation loudspeaker systems and associated equipment by developing and implementing custom algorithms to analyze and optimize both measured and simulated audio signals and acoustic measurements. Responsibility set additionally includes ideation and intelligent incorporation of ML and AI to enhance and accelerate system optimization. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, the ideal candidate combines the desire for conceptual and analytical mentorship with the ability to think and develop independently.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising independent judgment and discretion.
- BS degree in a relevant field such as computer science, electrical engineering, digital audio, acoustics
- Strong theoretical knowledge of fundamental signal processing concepts such as filtering, FFT / DFT, time / frequency / Cepstral domains
- Understanding of acoustic wave propagation and interaction is desirable
- Proficiency in MATLAB required.
- Experience with other languages, such as Python and C / C++ / C# is preferred
- Experience with machine learning and AI desirable
- Ability to work independently and drive progress without continuous oversight
- Detail oriented
- Excellent written communication skills
EXPERIENCE:
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in audio signal analysis and/or processing
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the professional audio industry
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Develop custom algorithms and SW tools for analyzing and optimizing audio signals and acoustic measurements
- Interact with loudspeakers and associated equipment design team, contributing to the development of products
- Assist in collecting data relevant to the performance of loudspeakers and associated equipment
- Write code that can analyze large datasets and draw/present conclusions directly and/or present in a form for human observation, interaction, and conclusion
