Food & Beverage Supervisor
Job Summary
The Food & Beverage Supervisor will primarily be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the a la carte food and beverage department, including but not limited to supervision and development of FOH staff, overseeing the dining areas during business hours, and the monitoring and control of beverage products. Responsible for promoting and maintaining the high standards of service and cleanliness within all dining areas.
Reports To: Food & Beverage Manager/Food & Beverage Director
Supports: Catering Director
Job Tasks (Duties):
· Supervise FOH staff in all dining areas to ensure that the high level of service is being delivered consistently to our members and guests.
· Assist in training FOH staff to be effective team members delivering excellent service across the club.
· Assist with daily line-ups for FOH staff.
· Assures that all applicable club policies and procedures are followed.
· Assist in ensuring that all new employees receive the appropriate safety instructions and training; enforce all safety policies and procedures including OSHA regulations.
· Greets guests and oversees dining services. Is present on the floor during service hours.
· Assists in developing wine lists, cocktail menus, and bar menus.
· Addresses member and guest complaints, reporting to and advising the Food and Beverage Manager as needed.
· Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures
· Assists with beverage inventory at the end of every month.
· Assists with the storage and quality control of beverage products.
· Completes other appropriate assignments and duties from the Food and Beverage Manager
· Uphold and exhibit the high standards of Inverness culture according to the “Inverness Standard.”
Candidate Qualifications:
· Must be 21 years of age.
· Ability to promote and sustain a culture of quality service.
· Strong communication skills with members and staff, promoting an open exchange environment to move the food and beverage operations forward in a consistently positive, passionate manner.
· Excellent organization skills.
· Minimum two years of previous service experience in food and beverage operations, with private club experience preferred.
· Reputation for quality and attention to detail.
· Ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends as demanded by business cycles.
· Knowledge of, and experience using Microsoft Office and/or exposure to private club management software and other related software is preferred.
· Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneels, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach.
· Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to perform continuous repetitive motions.
· Ability to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
· Food safety education preferred.
· Alcoholic beverage certification preferred.
